DUB SIGNAL UNIT

A hardware-style dub siren controlled by rotary knobs, action switches and a performance pad that changes pitch and speed while you drag.

The centre pad is the instrument. Drag horizontally for PITCH and vertically for SPEED, then use the surrounding controls for DEPTH, TONE, LEVEL, FEEDBACK, SPACE and DRIVE.

What this browser tool does

A hardware-style dub siren controlled by rotary knobs, action switches and a performance pad that changes pitch and speed while you drag.

First five steps

  1. Press and hold the PLAY pad, then drag left and right.
  2. Move vertically to hear how the modulation speed changes.
  3. Set the main PITCH, MODE, SPEED and TIME controls.
  4. Add DEPTH, TONE, FEEDBACK and SPACE a little at a time.
  5. Drop ZAP, OCT, FAST and BEND into the performance.

Basic controls

MAIN ROTARIES

PITCH sets the note, MODE selects the movement, SPEED controls modulation and TIME sets the echo interval.

SECONDARY ROTARIES

DEPTH sets movement range, TONE controls brightness, LEVEL sets siren volume, FEEDBACK sets repeats, SPACE adds ambience and DRIVE adds distortion.

LATCH / REPEAT

LATCH keeps the sound running after release. REPEAT loops the action. Learn the stop state before combining them.

ACTION BUTTONS

ZAP makes a short sweep, OCT jumps an octave, FAST accelerates movement and BEND shifts pitch. REC and STOP capture the performance.

Practical setups

One-hand rise

Drag the PLAY pad slowly toward the upper right to raise pitch and speed together.

Low signal

Use low PITCH, dark TONE and more SPACE. Keep it short and leave OCT off.

Live control

Leave LATCH off and hold FEEDBACK at a moderate level. Perform mainly with ZAP and BEND.

Save and export

Start with REC and finish with STOP. If LATCH is used during the take, release it before the end so the final decay stays intentional.

What this tool does not do

  • This tool focuses on one sound or pattern task rather than final mixing.
  • Keep output level conservative before pushing feedback, drive or repeated effects.

FAQ

Is it free?
DUB SIGNAL UNIT is free to use in the browser.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open the tool in a current browser to start.
Can I save or export the result?
Start with REC and finish with STOP. If LATCH is used during the take, release it before the end so the final decay stays intentional.
What should I try first if it does not work?
Use a longer drag rather than browser zoom when a knob feels too precise.

Troubleshooting

  • Use a longer drag rather than browser zoom when a knob feels too precise.
  • If sound will not stop, disable LATCH and REPEAT, then press STOP.
  • Lower LEVEL before DRIVE when distortion becomes excessive.
  • Begin touch gestures from the centre of the pad if the page scrolls instead.
