CHORD ARP

A browser arpeggio generator that turns chord progressions into playable patterns and exports MIDI with adjustable rate, motion, range, gate, swing and density.

Start from a progression preset or type your own chords. Generation happens locally in the browser, so the progression and exported MIDI are not sent to a server.

What this browser tool does

A browser arpeggio generator that turns chord progressions into playable patterns and exports MIDI with adjustable rate, motion, range, gate, swing and density.

First five steps

  1. Choose a chord progression preset or enter your own chords.
  2. Set BPM and choose 1/8, 1/16 or 1/32 note rate.
  3. Select upward, downward, up-and-down, outward or random motion.
  4. Adjust octaves, register, gate and density, then preview.
  5. Export the pattern as MIDI and load it into a DAW.

Basic controls

CHORD INPUT

Choose pop, anime, jazz, city-pop and minor progressions, or create another progression inside the selected style.

RATE / PATTERN

RATE sets note spacing and PATTERN sets order. At 1/32, lower BPM or density before judging the phrase.

RANGE / GATE

OCTAVES set spread, REGISTER sets the centre and GATE sets note length. Reduce GATE when notes overlap.

GROOVE

SWING shifts timing, DENSITY adds rests, COMPLEXITY adds change and HUMANIZE introduces small timing differences.

Practical setups

Tight pulse

Use 1/16 notes, one octave, short gate and high density for a focused repeated figure.

Wide opening

Use two or three octaves, outward motion and medium density to reveal the chord shape.

Loose late-night loop

Use 1/8 notes, moderate swing, a lower register and a longer gate.

Save and export

MIDI SAVE exports notes and timing only. Load the file into a DAW, choose the instrument there and edit velocity, duration and automation for the final sound.

What this tool does not do

  • MIDI carries notes and timing, not the final instrument sound.
  • Choose instruments and finish the mix in your DAW.

FAQ

Is it free?
CHORD ARP is free to use in the browser.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Open the tool in a current browser to start.
Can I save or export the result?
MIDI SAVE exports notes and timing only. Load the file into a DAW, choose the instrument there and edit velocity, duration and automation for the final sound.
What should I try first if it does not work?
If the progression is rejected, separate supported chord names clearly.

Troubleshooting

  • If the progression is rejected, separate supported chord names clearly.
  • If the result is too dense, lower DENSITY or move from 1/32 to 1/16.
  • If notes overlap, shorten GATE before changing the progression.
  • If imported MIDI is silent, assign a software instrument in the DAW.
